Trine is an astrology-first calendar app for iOS, a connector that lets AI assistants use Trine on your behalf, and this website. This policy describes what we collect, why, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect the minimum, we encrypt what is sensitive, we sell nothing, and deleting your account deletes your data.

On this website

This website has no accounts, no forms and no advertising trackers. If you email us, we use your address only to reply and, if you asked for an invite or a launch notice, to send it.

In the app

During the beta the Trine app has no accounts and sends nothing to us: your birth details, the people you add and your calendar stay on your iPhone, and the app contains no analytics, crash-reporting or purchase code. The list below describes what the app will collect once accounts and subscriptions launch; we will update this policy before that happens.

• Account: your email address or Sign in with Apple identifier, used to operate your account.
• Birth details: birth date, time (optional), and birthplace, used solely to compute your astrological chart and the readings and recommendations derived from it. Birth details are encrypted at rest with a per-user key, are never included in analytics or logs, and are never sold, rented, or shared with advertisers. When you connect with another Trine user, they see a computed compatibility summary — never your birth details. Consent is per-connection and revocable; revoking deletes the derived data.
• Calendar data: with your permission, Trine reads the calendars on your device (via iOS EventKit) to display your events and find free time. This calendar data is processed on your device and is not uploaded to our servers, except the specific events you ask Trine to create. You can revoke calendar access at any time in system settings.
• Purchases: subscriptions are processed by Apple and our subscription provider RevenueCat. We receive purchase state, never your payment card.
• Product analytics and crash reports: we use PostHog (usage events, e.g. "opened week view") and Sentry (crash reports) to improve Trine. Birth details, chart placements, and calendar contents are excluded from both.

Trine in AI assistants (Muse and others)

You can connect Trine to an AI assistant, such as Meta's Muse, so the assistant can ask Trine for calculations and interpretation on your behalf. This section covers that connection. It is optional, it is off until you turn it on, and you approve what the assistant may read before anything is shared.

What we collect when you connect

• A private Trine connector account: connecting creates a profile without requiring an email or password. If you add optional account recovery, we store your email and hashed password and recovery code. At launch this is separate from an app account.
• Your birth profile: birth date, birthplace, and birth time or the range you give us. Stored encrypted, with a record of when it was changed.
• People you save: a nickname and the birth details you enter for someone else. This is information you provide; we do not verify it, contact that person, or read their calendar. Only save someone's details with their agreement.
• Connection records: which assistant you connected, which permissions you granted, and when.
• The requests your assistant makes: for example which profile, which dates and what kind of activity. We keep minimal usage and audit records (that a request happened, when, and whether it succeeded) for security, rate limiting and billing. Birth details and relationship notes are excluded from routine logs.

We receive the specific request your assistant sends to Trine. We do not receive the rest of your conversation with the assistant.

What we share with the assistant

Your connection allows the assistant to retrieve saved birth details for corrections, calculated chart facts such as placements, aspects and transit dates, Trine's interpretive notes, saved timing results and your remaining allowances. It can save the birth details you supply and run timing searches you request. These capabilities share one connection permission. We never include payment details or access credentials in reading responses.

What happens to it after that

The company that runs your assistant (for Muse, Meta) receives what Trine returns and handles it under its privacy policy and your settings with it, including whether it is kept in your conversation history or the assistant's memory. We do not control that copy. Disconnecting Trine, or deleting your Trine account, stops anything new from being shared; it cannot erase what the assistant has already received. To remove that, use the controls your assistant provides.

What we don't do

We do not sell this data, use it for advertising, or use your birth details, saved people or requests to train machine-learning models.

Your controls

From your Trine account page you can edit or remove saved birth profiles, export or delete your account, see connected assistants, and disconnect all assistants. Disconnecting blocks further access. Removing a birth profile also clears stored timing snapshots for the account; timing casts already used remain counted. Billing controls are currently being tested before public launch.

Your browser can remember access for up to a year. Adding recovery credentials is optional. If you lose access through both your browser and connected assistant before adding recovery, we cannot restore your private account from your birth details.

Payments

Connector checkout uses Stripe, including Link where available. We associate Stripe customer, checkout, payment and subscription identifiers with your private Trine account, and store the payment state and allowances needed to deliver purchases. Stripe collects the payment and receipt details entered at checkout; we never receive your full card number. A checkout email does not create Trine recovery credentials or authorize marketing. Apple is not involved in connector billing. Native purchasing inside an assistant depends on that provider's support.

Age

Connecting Trine to an AI assistant is for adults aged 18 and over.

Google Calendar data

A future version of Trine will offer an optional connection to Google Calendar. If you connect it: we will access your calendar list and events (read) and create single events you explicitly schedule (write); we will use that data only to display your calendar inside Trine and to find free time for scheduling; we will store only sync metadata and the events needed to render your calendar, encrypted in transit and at rest; and we will share it with no one. Trine's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google Calendar data is never used for advertising, never sold, and never used to train machine-learning models.

Who processes data for us

Apple and RevenueCat (app purchases), PostHog (app analytics), Sentry (crash reports), Stripe (connector payments, if offered), and our hosting and database providers, who store data on our behalf under contract and may not use it for their own purposes.

Retention and deletion

For the connector, ordinary reading results are retained for up to seven days. Saved birth profiles and timing results remain until you remove them or delete your account. Deleting a connector account removes its profiles, results, credentials and usage records from the active database; it does not destroy the service's shared encryption key or remove copies already held by an assistant provider. Production backup retention will be published before the connector becomes publicly available.

For help with data deletion, contact support@gettrine.com. Any required billing and security records are retained only as long as the law or fraud prevention requires.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to processing. Email us and we will honor them. We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.

Children

Trine is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. AI assistant connections are for adults only, as described above.

Changes

We will post any changes here with a new effective date, and notify you in the app or by email if the changes are material.
